Philippine Multi-SKU Household Program
A multi-category household product program for a Philippine retail chain – 40+ SKUs across home organization, safety and kitchen tools, managed through a single supply partner.
Client Background
The Client
A retail chain operating value stores across the Philippines, sourcing household goods from multiple suppliers across China and Southeast Asia. The procurement team was managing 15+ separate vendor relationships for household products – each with different quality standards, packaging formats, lead times and export procedures.
The client wanted to consolidate sourcing through a single partner who could handle multiple product categories, maintain consistent packaging design, and deliver a full container of mixed SKUs rather than separate LCL shipments from different factories.
Challenge
The Challenge
- Vendor overload – 15+ suppliers for household products meant 15+ quality control touchpoints, 15+ sets of export documents, 15+ communication threads
- Inconsistent packaging – Different suppliers used different blister card sizes, card designs and material specifications, creating a disjointed retail shelf appearance
- Quality variation – Adhesion strength, material thickness and color matching varied between suppliers, leading to customer returns
- Logistics complexity – Multiple LCL shipments from different provinces in China meant higher freight costs and unpredictable arrival dates
Solution
What We Did
- Product consolidation – We mapped the client’s 40+ SKUs across our product range: adhesive hooks, cable clips, door stoppers, child safety locks, corner protectors, furniture pads, food clips and kitchen utensils. Products that we did not manufacture in-house were sourced through our verified partner network.
- Unified packaging system – We designed a standard blister card format (120?180mm) used across all SKUs, with consistent brand layout, color coding by category and barcoded SKU labels. This created a uniform shelf appearance and simplified the client’s receiving process.
- Quality standardization – We applied our AQL Level II inspection process to all 40+ SKUs, with the same adhesion test, dimensional check and color matching standards across the entire range.
- Consolidated shipping – We coordinated production across our partner factories to align completion dates, then consolidated all SKUs into FCL shipments from Guangzhou. This reduced per-unit freight cost by approximately 30% compared to the client’s previous LCL approach.
- Single communication channel – The client’s procurement team dealt with one project manager instead of 15+ supplier contacts, reducing communication overhead and response time for order changes.
Results
Program Outcomes
| Metric | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Supplier count | 15+ suppliers | 1 partner (Easezo) |
| SKUs managed | 40+ (scattered) | 40+ (consolidated) |
| Packaging format | Multiple sizes | Unified 120?180mm blister |
| Shipping method | Multiple LCL | Consolidated FCL |
| QC standard | Varied by supplier | AQL Level II (all SKUs) |
| Communication contacts | 15+ supplier reps | 1 project manager |
The program has been running for multiple years with annual repeat orders. New SKUs are added each season through our product development process, and the client has expanded from the initial 40+ SKUs to a broader household range.
Takeaway
Why This Works
The key value of this program is not any single product – it is the consolidation of a multi-category sourcing list through one team that handles development, production coordination, quality control and export. For retail chains that need 20-60 household SKUs per program, managing 15+ suppliers is operationally expensive and quality-inconsistent. A single supply partner with in-house QC, unified packaging and FCL consolidation reduces both cost and risk.
